  2. XVIII, in 1984. On one play, Marcus took the
  3. handoff and tried to run a sweep toward the
  4. left sideline. No good. Washington Redskin
  5. tacklers grabbed at him from all sides. He
  6. reversed field and ran toward the right
  7. sideline. By avoiding five would-be tacklers,
  8. Marcus ran for 74 yards and the touchdown
  9. that clinched the game for the Raiders. In all,
  10. Marcus rushed for what was then a Super
  11. Bowl record 191 yards. (Timmy Smith of the
  12. Washington Redskins rushed for 204 yards
  13. in Super Bowl XXII, in 1988.) The Raiders
  14. won the championship, and Marcus was
  15. named the gameΓÇÖs Most Valuable Player.
